Istanbul is a major city in Turkey, which is located in Europe and Asia along the Bosphorus Strait. The Old City reflects the cultural influences of the various empires that ruled the region. In the Sultanahmet district, the Roman-era Open Air Hippodrome was a chariot-racing site for centuries, and Egyptian obelisks also remain. The iconic Byzantine Hagia Sophia has a soaring 6th-century dome and rare Christian mosaics.

Cappadocia is a semi-arid region in central Turkey known for its characteristic "fairy chimneys": tall, cone-shaped rock formations that cluster at the Valley of the Monks, Göreme and other sites. Other highlights include the Bronze Age houses that were carved into the valley walls by troglodytes (cave dwellers) and later used as shelters by early Christians. The 100 m deep Ihlara Canyon is home to numerous rock-built churches.
2. Cappadoci
Pamukkale is a town in the western half of Turkey, famous for its mineral-rich hot springs that emanate from terraces of white travertine rock. It adjoins Hierapolis, an ancient spa city that was founded around 190 B.C. C. Among the ruins, you can find a well-preserved theater and a necropolis with sarcophagi that extends over 2 km. The thermal pool is famous for its submerged Roman columns as a result of an earthquake

4. Taksim
Göreme sits at the heart of a network of valleys filled with astonishing rock formations. It also has the most painted churches in Cappadocia. When the nearby Göreme Valley was designated to become the most important tourist centre for Cappadocia (Turkish: Kapadokya), the village's name was changed to Göreme for practical reasons.

Topkapı Palace, located in Istanbul, was the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1465 to 1853. The construction of the palace was ordered by Sultan Mehmed II in 1459 and completed in 1465.

The Bosphorus, also known as the Strait of Istanbul, is a strait that separates the European part - included during the Ottoman Empire in the European province of Rumelia - from the Asian part: Anatolia of Turkey. Sovereignty over the strait has been the reason for discussions and wars throughout history.
