Overview

“The City of Brotherly Love”

(Sunday): We begin at the Independence Visitor’s Center. Philadelphia is known for its arts and culture. The cheesesteak and soft pretzel are emblematic of its cuisine, shaped by the city’s ethnic mix. The city has more outdoor sculptures and murals than any other American city, and Fairmount Park is the largest landscaped urban park in the world. We begin with an orientation of Independence Park, a view of Liberty Bell, Independence Hall,
Bourse Building, National Museum of Jewish American History and other nearby points of interest. Our tour also highlights the Betsy Ross House, Elfreth’s Alley, the National Constitution Center, African Museum, China Town, and the Convention Center. We stop at the grand and succulent Reading Terminal Market. Then go to City Hall, the Masonic Temple, Love Park, Logan’s Circle and the Cathedral of Saint Peter Paul. After lunch we visit the Eastern State Penitentiary, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Rocky Statue. We return to NYC late in the afternoon.

Places You’ll See :

America's Most Historic Prison Eastern State Penitentiary was once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells once held many of America's most notorious lawbreakers, including "Slick Willie" Sutton and "Scarface" Al Capone.
